I’m doing it again.
I will be hosting another small group tasting for a selection of chocolate I bought at Salon du Chocolat in Paris at the end of October.
It’s just too much fun to share the exciting things I discover each year - I never believe there will be more new things, but then there are!
DATE: Sunday 29th November
TIME: 3pm - 5:30pm
The products for this have already been purchased, hence there are only a limited number of spaces available, but please reach out in case of dietary concerns. It may be possible to provide substitutions.
Tastings will include:
a comparison of bars made by the same maker with the same batch of beans and to the same percentage of cocoa, the only difference is roasting the beans fully, vs not.
tiny tastes of some super cool cocoa liquor from fermentation experiments held in Indonesia (this wasn’t for sale so is super special access)
bars with interesting tropical fruit inclusions, including a fruit I hadn’t tried in more than 20 years and have never seen in chocolate before
a very new origin which has a totally unique taste
a seriously yummy praline bar
unique cakes from multi-award-winning chocolate maker Fu Wan in Taiwan
(Photos are mostly from 2024 tasting.)
